Slammed Series by Colleen Hoover: Book 1 - Slammed, 2 - Point of Retreat and 3 - This Girl. |
If you haven't read these books, I swear to God, you should! But I must say that it is one of those that will make you cry. They're one of my favorites and I have read them quite a few times already and I cry every single time.
I won't be writing any description or summary about them, but I will share with you my favorite lines, I hope with those you'll get an idea what they're about.
Plus, at the beginning of every chapter a verse from the songs of The Avett Brothers are featured.
Here goes:
Slammed
"Regret is counterproductive. It's looking back on a past that you can't change. Questioning things as they occur can prevent regret in the future"
There's so much more to relationships than just love"
"There are three questions every woman should be able to answer yes to before they commit to a man. if you answer no to any of the three questions, run like hell. Does he treat you with respect at all times? That's the first question. The second question is if he is the exact same person twenty years from now that he is today, would you still want to marry him? And finally, does he inspire you to want to be a better person? You find someone you can answer yes to all three, then you've found a good man"
"I can't possibly comprehend at this moment what it must be like to actually have a broken heart. If it hurts even one percent more than the pain I'm feeling now, I'll forego live. it's not worth it"
"Push your boundaries, that's what they're there for"
The weight of lies will bring you down, follow you to every town 'cause nothing happens here that doesn't happen there"
"You've been doing so much thinking with your head that you're ignoring your heart completely. There has to be a balance. The fact that both of you are letting other things consume you is about to ruin any chance you'll ever have at being happy"
"Question everything. Your love, your religion, your passions. If you don't have questions, you'll never find answers"
"And last but not the least, not the tiniest bit least, NEVER REGRET"
