We arrived in Macau around 12noon, just in time for lunch which we're supposedly to have at the Macau Tower. It was a Monday, so we didn't even think of having a reservation, but we should have. The 360 Cafe was fully booked already and we have no choice but to have our lunch at the 180 lounge.
If you didn't know yet, the 360 Cafe is a rotating buffet that serves a wide variety of international dishes. I have tried it for the first time back in 2007 and, I swear to God, the food is really good! So if your planning to go to Macau, you must visit the tower and have your lunch or dinner there, and don't forget to place your reservations!!
So, going back, we then had our lunch at the 180 Lounge. It wasn't really the place to have lunch, but the food was equally good and we left the place with happy tummies!
After lunch, we then head to the Indoor Observation Deck. A 360 degrees panoramic view of Macau, and hundreds (or Thousands?) feet high.
Riza was scared of heights so she wasn't with us in this pic. |
And it won't be The Venetian if they don't have the Canal.
After an hour or so of walking around, we then decided to head back to the ferry terminal, again there's a free shuttle at the back of the hotel that will drop you off outside the terminal.
Sunset and the tower. 'Til my next visit, Macau! |
After an agonizing hour in the ferry, we're back in HK and did some shopping. Our first stop was H&M. Because it was the nearest to the MTR station where we got off.
And before we went back to our hotel in Mong Kok, we went to Cotton On along Nathan Road. The Ladies' Night Market was just outside our place but it was just like Divisoria here in Manila so we weren't able to buy anything.
On our last day, we went for some last minute shopping. We went first to Causeway Bay, the Forever 21 there has 5 floors! But the clothes were the same with what we have here, only cheaper by a few pesos. We then went to the Sogo Department store, where I was able to buy this:
MAC's Archie's Girls Collection in Ronnie Red. It was way cheaper there and I should've bought two! |
I bought 15 pieces of Macarons, and that already cost me HKD345. So, convert that to Peso, it's around 1700-2000. Yes, it is that expensive. But then, these are the real deal. You won't have any of these in Manila. And I must say, it was the BEST macaron I've tasted! definitely worth it!!
And that's it! We then head back to our hotel, grabbed our stuff, checked out and took the bus going to the airport.
I must say, our trip was so short. i wish we extended for at least a day! We weren't able to visit Ngong Ping, Madame Tussauds, Ocean Park, etc. But I will definitely go back to Hong Kong, mainly to shop. Ha ha!
For my next trip, I'm still deciding if I should go to Thailand or Singapore. hmm. What do you think?
xx,
Tin
