So, my friend and I have been talking about attending a calligraphy workshop together. We've been searching the net for classes but there are none until we saw Fozzy's post on Facebook. There are only 10 SLOTS available for both class, so it was a contest on who can send the registration form faster. Ha ha! So before the clock struck 12, our form was already filled out and ready to send, and viola! We got in! YAY!
Unfortunately, my friend wasn't able to join because her family had scheduled an important out-of-town trip that she didn't know about. So her slot was given to someone else.
Can we just admire for a second how lovely the Heima store looks!
So the workshop is basically about the basics of calligraphy. First we had drills using pencil so we can be familiar with the strokes. After a few tries, we then used the ink. I must say that it was scary at first, i thought the nib will break at any moment. Ha ha! But it did not!!!
My handwriting is really small so I had a bit of a hard time trying to occupy two lines on the notebook! It definitely takes some getting used to.
When I got home, I immediately got my hands on newly acquired calligraphy stuff and practiced. You know what they say, practice makes (almost) perfect!
I also bought an extra nib, the same ones that I got from the workshop, just in case they break.
