These are my (current) favorite and most played tracks right now. There's in no One Direction in there, I promise! Ha ha!

And it's not MY playlist without a bunch of The 1975 songs!

What's your favorite song right now?

DAY 2: Baler Long Weekend

August 29 - 31, 2015 - This is a super late post.

DAY TWOOO! This was our chill day!

As two of my friends went for a morning surf, we looked for a breakfast place. We ended up at Hungry Surfer, located at Sabang Beach.

Breakfast for 4!!

That was our lunch as well, by the way! We also checked out Costa Pacifica (they were fully booked when we were planning our trip.)

I told you, chill day!

By lunch time, the tricycle that was going to take us to Dicasalarin Cove picked us up. It was quite a long tricycle drive to the drop off point. Once there, we had to ride a motorcycle that will take us to the beach. the road was very steep, and curvy.

Sneak peak before going down to the beach!
Dicasalarin Cove is privately owned by the Angara Family. It is indeed a secluded piece of heaven.

There is a lighthouse/Beacon that you can go up to, but we didn't bother going because it was too hot and we're too lazy.

The waves are strong here, so be careful! There's also a part where it's too rocky, you might get hurt! We stayed for a while, and enjoyed the view.

Before returning to Nina's, we stopped by Nanay Pacing's store. they sell the famous homemade peanut butter, which was really, really good! Also bought some coco jam, and the suman (A MUST BUY when in Baler). We also got to meet Nanay Pacing herself!!!

I didn't keep track of our actual trip cost, but we did spend too much on food. Ha ha!

DAY 1 post, here.

DAY 1: Baler Long Weekend

August 29 - 31, 2015 - This is a super late post.

We took the bus (Genesis/JoyBus) from Cubao going to Baler. Bus left Manila after midnight, and we were in Baler already by 6AM I think. There were a lot of people at the terminal, so be sure to be there at least an hour earlier than your scheduled trip.

Since our trip fell on a long weekend we booked earlier, though it was quite hard to look for a decent place since most resorts were fully booked already. We stayed at Nina's Transient House, not a fancy one but a decent place for sleep. It was a few minutes walk away from Sabang Beach. Staff are friendly, and they have cute dogs too. Ha ha! While we were there, they were renovating the place. Adding more rooms, I guess. Check them out here.

For your day tours, you can hire a tricycle that can take you around. From the Balete Tree to Mother Falls. Our tricycle driver was also our guide going to the falls.

Before starting our tour, breakfast!!! we went to the famous Rolling Store. Located at the town center of Baler, a series of Karinderya side by side offering different kinds of meals. from ihaw-ihaw to lutong bahay. Costs cheap too!

We then made our way to the Balete Tree. One of the tourist spots in Baler, standing for 600 years (or more?), also known as the "Millenium tree" of the Philippines.

I suggest that you hire one of the photographers there, they take really cool and creative shots! Like these:

I didn't get the off-shoulder memo. LOL!

Next stop is the Ditumabo Falls, also known as the Mother Falls. Less than an hour from the Balete Park, we arrived at the entry point going to the falls. There were a lot of people already when we arrived, and the sun was bright, so make sure to bring necessary covers and put on sunblock!

Not sure how long the trek was, but it was tiring. Ha ha! again, there were just too many tourists. we didn't go for a swim, but the water was really, really cold!!!

At the time, they're experiencing water shortage, so there wasn't that much water coming down.

Photo below is the same falls, taken by my friend who visited last December. Fallen rocks were everywhere because the province was hit by a typhoon. But it was a harder trek when they visited because the river flow was stronger.

We then started our trek back to the entry point, I swear going down is always faster. We made it back to town proper by lunch time.

We decided to have our lunch at Baler Surfer Grill.

Car redesigned to be a grill!
Baler Surfer Grill is famous for their Bulalo BBQ, which they all ordered. I went for the Liempo BBQ.

TOP: Bulalo BBQ | BOTTOM: Liempo BBQ

After lunch we rested for a bit, then continued with our tour. We went to the Diguisit Rock Formation.

We weren't able to stay long because it started raining. We literally ran back to the tricycle! HA HA!!

We're back at Nina's, then went to Sabang Beach for surfing. Well, for 2 of my friends that is.

I'm responsible for their surfing photos though!

Day 2 post, here.

Wanderland Music Festival 2016

March 5, 2016 - Not going to lie, this is my first festival ever!!!

Wanderland Music Festival was held at the Globe Circuit Event Grounds in Makati. An annual music and arts festival, and had an outer space theme for this year!

We decided to go this year because Death Cab For Cutie was headlining. Do I need more reason? No.

Line-up also includes: Bon Iver, Panama, San Cisco, The Naked and Famous, Blackbird Blackbird, Crwn and Jess Connelly, Cheats, and other acts.

Festival started at 12 Noon, but we went at around 3PM already, so we missed some performances. When we arrived, Cheats was on stage.

Some favorite sets: San Cisco, Bon Iver and of course, DCFC!!!

I'm already a fan of San Cisco, but as with other artists, hearing them live is always a treat not to be missed!

Bon Iver was insanely good! Incredibly talented!!! Loved hearing his songs live for the first time! The Wolves (Act I and II), that part where "what might have been lost" was sung repeatedly, chills and feels!!!

Death Cab For Cutie, no words!!! Kinda sad though Tiny Vessels wasn't on their setlist. But there's always Transatlanticism. Tears!!! Loved the band even more after seeing them live for the first time!

here are more photos: Didn't get a chance to go near the stage though.

Bon Iver during Woods

The Naked and Famous; I was sat on the ground eating my waffle during this time. lol!

Another TNAF shot!

PANAMA!!!

Downside though, this year they decided on using a form of GCash or something to pay for food, drinks, etc while at the festival. It may be the reason why the lines got so long. Cash payment would've been better.  Also, by night time, there were few stalls with food/drinks left.

Can't wait for next year's line-up!

La Union weekend

March 19, 2016 - I recently went to La Union with my friends since none of us have been there. Yes, really.

We booked our bus tickets online, through Pinoy Travel. The most recommended bus line is Partas, but since they were fully booked at the time, we rode Dominion (to La Union) and Viron (to Manila.) You may check the website for bus schedules/fares.

For our hotel/resort, we stayed at San Juan Surf resort. We arrived their at around 9AM, check in time is 2PM, so there were no rooms yet when we arrived.

The resort is clean, friendly staff. Our room was spacious. The beach wasn't too crowded, I enjoyed that a lot.

While waiting for our room, we had our brunch at Coast Call, resort's own restaurant. I had Beef Tapa, of course.

I love going to the beach, but I don't know how to swim, I don't surf  as well. Out of the three of us, only one went surfing. my other friend and I just watched, took photos, and ate. LOL!

DINNER TIME! We didn't bother going to other places for food. But I'm pretty happy with what Coast Call has to offer. Sorry, I forgot the names.

Next day breakfast!!! Peanut Butter Smores Pancakes!!!  It was sweet, so I ordered some Breakfast potatoes to balance.

We left an hour earlier than their check out time (12 noon), because we still have to figure out where the Viron terminal is. Ha ha! But would definitely want to go back!

TRIP COST:
BUS to and fro: around 800-900/person
RESORT: 2860/3 pax (our room can accomodate 4 people btw)
FOOD (Brunch, dinner, breakfast): around 800-900
SNACKS (why not?): 100-150
