4AM call time at Mc Donald's El Pueblo. If things could get any better.
We only have a small group, 10 climbers and 2 guides. Mt. Gulugod Baboy was SUPPOSED to be for beginners. Yeah, right!

They said, the hardest part on this trail was the first one, a paved steep road. True enough, it was hard. I've never had this much exercise my entire life!! it was a good 30 minutes (I think) walk. Depending on how slow or fast you go.
Almost gave up even before this |
REST |
I think we stopped 3 times, to catch our breath and rest. we were climbing, I think, for a good 2 hours, even at MY slow pace, we were ahead of schedule.
almost there |
We reached the peak of Mt. Gulugod Baboy just in time for lunch.
We are now 525 meters above sea level! All I could think about was how worth it the climb was! The view was stunning! Considering I almost gave up at the end of the paved road, I was so glad I didn't. Plus the weather cooperated, the sun wasn't shining at its best, but it wasn't raining either.

Me, after that stressful hike!!! |
The descend was much easier, even tho I fell on my ass TWICE! Thank you, TJ for helping me! HA HA!
We reached our starting point before 3PM. Again, earlier than our schedule. After cleaning up, we all looked for a Bulalo-han, a well deserved meal for everyone!
After a great meal, we're off to Manila. The rain started to pour, I mean really pour, so lucky us it didn't happen while we're on the trail.
Would I go on another hike? Maybe, but I'd better prepare for it. Been eyeing on Mt. Pulag ever since! And yes, this is something I crossed out from my bucket list!
