Before I Fall
Before I Fall is a novel by New York Times bestselling author, Lauren Oliver.
It's a story about Samantha Kingston, the popular girl in high school, who seem to have everything but didn't realize it until death made her do.
Here's the catch: she gets to live the last day of her life seven times to unravel the mystery surrounding her death.
As she tries to figure out, she realizes the value of everything around her -- Family, friends - that she's going to lose.
Would you want to relive the last day of your life for an entire week?
Do you have to die or be in an accident to realize what you have? To appreciate everyone around you?
Will you wait for that chance to exist before you make things right? To say you're sorry? To finally kiss the right person?
If you know today will be your last day, what would you do? What would you say?
Favorite lines from the book:
"But before you start pointing fingers, let me ask you: Is what I did really so bad? So bad I deserve to die? So bad I deserve to die like that? I what I did really so much worse than what anybody else does? Is it really so much worse than what you do? Think About it" - Sam
"Here's another thing to remember: hope keeps you alive. Even when you're dead, it's the only thing that keeps you alive" - Sam
"If you crossed a line and nothing happens, the line loses meaning" - Sam
"I suppose that's the secret, if you're ever wishing for things to go back to the way they were, you just have to look up" - Sam
"So many things become beautiful when you really look" - Sam
"I guess that's what saying goodbye is always like - like jumping off an edge. The worst part is making the choice to do it. Once you're in the air, there's nothing you can do but let go" -Sam
The story might be a little confusing for some, as it only goes around one day with seven different versions. But it's a good read, nonetheless.
