Tin Goes To: Cebu - Bohol (Part 2)

Day 2 is Bohol day! YAY! I've never been there so I'm really excited.

From Cebu, yo can go to Bohol via Ferry. There are different ferries there, but we chose Supercat. We had our tickets reserved weeks before and also paid them here in Manila before we left. That way, there's less hassle once we arrived in Cebu. Also, as I've previously mentioned, one of my friends wasn't able to join us. But we were able to refund her ferry tickets. Yay!

From Cebu to Bohol, travel time is more or less 2 hours. The trip was bearable, didn't feel dizzy at all (unlike the ferry from Hong Kong going to Macau, I hated that).

My friend suggested a tour guide for when we get to Bohol, She met him from her previous trip to Bohol (If you want to contact him, the tour guide, let me know). One thing I realized while we were there, it is fucking hard to go around without a car or tour guide. most of our destinations are far from the port and like up above the mountains. If you're planning to go on your own, good luck commuting. Ha ha!

First stop, the Blood Compact Site, or in Tagalog "Sandugo", a ritual done for establishing friendship. It is done by cutting a small wound on their arms then pour the blood in a single cup mixed with wine. Then, they divided it into two glasses for both of them to drink. "Sandugo", meaning one blood.  The ritual was done by Spanish explorer Miguel López de Legazpi and Bohol Chieftain Datu Sikatuna. A little bit of a History lesson for y'all there!

we then passed by Baclayon Church. one of the oldest churches in the country. Sadly it was badly hit by the earthquake last October 2013, so it's facade was destroyed.

It was almost time for lunch, so we then went to one of the floating restaurants in Loboc River. Our guide took us to Rio Verde Floating Resto, he said the food was better there. I've got nothing to compare it to, but it seems he's right. There is a P50.00 entrance fee and the buffet costs P392.00.

Panoramic view of Loboc River

They mainly serve Filipino food, like Barbeque, Pancit, Crispy shrimps, assorted fruits, etc.

If it's your first time in Bohol, this is one of the things you shouldn't miss!

The ride was relaxing and the view was just breathtaking. Our guide explained to us that they're promoting eco-tourism, that's why you won't see any of the big malls that we have here in Manila in Bohol, like SM and Ayala. And you can probably agree with them, they are doing a great job in preserving their environment.

After a wonderful cruise, we then went to the following places:

Tarsier Conservation Area

Why does it like I was going on a hike to reach these cute creatures? Ha ha!

A few things about Tarsiers:
- They are nocturnals
- They mainly eat insects
- They are suicidal

But they're really cute, right?

On our way to our next destination, we passed by the man-made forest. Stretching up to two kilometers, the forest is mainly made up of Mahogany trees. But they are now including fruit-bearing trees somewhere in the inside.

Waiting for Jacob (from Twilight) to come out. Ha ha!

Or Edward to drive by riding his Silver Volvo. Ha ha ha! Okay. I'm going to stop now.

Simply Butterflies Conservation Center
We really had fun during our visit here. The guide, kuya Raymond, really studied for this. And he was such a fun one, we had a good laugh while learning. Plus he takes good photos too!

Chocolate Hills
One of the Seven Wonders of the world. Need I say more?

It's quite a climb going to the top. Brace yourselves.

Our last stop, the Bamboo Hanging Bridge. We weren't able to take much photos because my friend was scared to death! LOLS.

You will have to pay P20.00 to cross the bridge, it may be a bit too much. Or not really. At the other end, there are people who sells souvenir stuff and food for pasalubong. So, basically you have to cross the bridge for that.

We were planning on going to Panglao Island before going back to Cebu, but sadly we were short on time. We just waited at the Tagbilaran Port for our 5:45pm ferry ride back to Cebu.
