#KLScapade2014

We went to Malaysia last September 20 until the 23rd, we were a bit nervous because last September 19th, it was raining crazy all over the country, so we were scared our flight might be cancelled. Thankfully it was not, the weather was better on the day of our flight. But as expected, it was delayed. We were first scheduled to depart by 12:10PM, we kept on checking our flight status and it got changed to 4PM. Then while at the airport, it was then moved to 5PM. Well now, Cebu Pacific!!

We assumed that our check-in will also be moved to later time. Good thing my friend checked the counter. We were then informed that the counter just closed. We're like, WTFFF. Good thing they allowed us to check-in. UGH. Thank God! crazy thing is, they said, they don't know that our flight was actually delayed. I mean, how can that be, it's posted on their website!!!

Anyway, we were at the boarding gate around 2PM. But got on the plane at 6PM. We were supposed to be in KL already at 6PM. jeez. So much time was wasted waiting. And Cebu Pac, the FREE Cup Noodles did not suffice for the time wasted waiting.

Going back to our trip!

We arrived at KLIA2 around 11PM. We weren't able to go around anymore as planned, so we just went straight to the hotel, buy some food, and had some rest.

BTW, we stayed at Sunbow Hotel Residency. We booked through Agoda.com. The place was surprisingle great, we had a great room, despite not having any windows. Ha ha! they're located in Sun Complex, Bukit Bintang. There are lots of malls nearby, a few walks away from Jalan Alor and the MTR Imbi Station.

DAY 2

We had to make up for the lost time, so we had to squeeze in as much places as we can.

First Destination: Batu Caves

You can go to the Batu Caves just by riding their train, From KL Central ride the train that will take you straight to the Batu Caves. Travel time is less than 30 minutes.

A bit of a warning, MONKEYS are everywhere, if you have any food with you, hide them properly unless you want to attract some monkeys. And Pigeons (or so I think) are all over as well, try to avoid getting some bird poo on you!

272 STEPS later...
You will then have to go up the stairs to get in the cave. That was not an easy walk, I tell you! Ha ha!

insde the cave
More stairs inside. Weeee! *Crying inside* Our estimated stay in the Batu Caves was 3 HOURS, we thought we'll be slow! HA HA! But we made it back to KL Central around 9AM. Had our breakfast/lunch there before going to our next destination.

Next stop: Central Market, Chinatown and Sri Mahamariamman Temple
From KL Central ride the train that will take you to Pasar Seni Station. Walk straight out of the station, cross the street, and you'll easily see Central market.

Central Market

For me, Central Market is the best place to buy all your pasalubongs (trip souvenir and gifts). There are plenty of shops selling different kinds of items, from your souvenir shirts, food and other items.

From Central Market, walk left and you'll see Chinatown. We didn't really look around because we were heading to the Sri Mahamariamman Temple.

Sri Mahamariamman Temple
Did my research and apparently, this is the oldest and richest Hindu Temple in Kuala Lumpur.

The temple's facade is just stunning with its ornate and intricate design.

off to I-City!

Take the train again and get off at Padang Jawa. Train ride is at least 30 minutes, so we were able to rest. Then, from the train station, ride a cab going to I-City. There is no other way. (sidenote: we read from some sites that the cab ride going to I-City is expensive. It wasn't at all! if I'm not mistaken, we spent around 10MYR.)

I'm not sure if it was just us, but we were quite disappointed with this place. Or maybe we expected too much! Lels!

We tried their Snowwalk and 5D Theatre. The Snowwalk was.. Cold. Ha ha! It was definitely freezing since I was wearing the wrong footwear!!

We decided not to wait for the digital lights. We went back to our hotel, rest for a while then went out again to see the merdeka Square. But unfortuantely when we arrived, the lights were out and there is this some kind of a motorcycle gathering.

Highlight of the trip: Petronas Twin Towers

You haven't been to Kuala Lumpur if you didn't visit these beauties! No words for how Beautiful this is!!!!

#TeamKL
For our dinner, we tried madam Kwan's. (Sorry, forgot to take a photo because we were that hungry!)

I'm not really a fan of curry, so I tried their Nasi Bojari - A huge piece of Chicken (leg and thigh), half hard boiled egg, beef rendang, assam prawns, and tri-colored rice. While my friends had their Nasi Lemak - Chicken Curry, shrimp floss, Sambal Ikan Bilis, hard boiled egg, coconut steamed rice, acar and cucumber. Made the right choice with the Nasi Bojari!

Before heading back to the hotel, we walked along Jalan Alor, the whole street is full of restaurants that serves different kinds of dishes. We were too full to try something though.

We had no idea where we were exactly, until we reached the end of the street and saw the building where we were staying at!

DAY 3 - LAST DAY

Agenda for today was Putra Jaya and shopping!!

We left the hotel at 8AM. We badly need the rest!

To go to Putra Jaya, we once again went to KL Central and rode the train that will stop at Putra Jaya. And by the Putra Jaya station, they offer a  tour around the place. Good thing we bought tickets for the tour, because we have no idea how to get there on our own!

We had the bus to ourselves, as per the lady where we bought the tickets from, the tour will take about 2 hours. But since it was just us, it was rather a quick one!

Putrajaya serves as the federal administrative center of Malaysia.

This part of malaysia is definitely a must-visit for the tourists!

For our last lunch in Kuala Lumpur, we had to try Din Tai Fung, located in the Pavilion Mall. (They also have branches in Singapore and Hong Kong)

Xiao Long Bao

Pork Chop Fried Rice
SO SOOO SOOOOO GOOOOOOD! Can someone bring them here as well??? HAHAHA!

We did our last minute shopping also at Pavilion Mall, and tried the Baskin-Robbins there, since the line here in Manila is crazy long, (is it still like that tho?)

Our trip was short, but definitely a good one! Still a lot of places that we weren't able to visit, like Legoland, Sunway Lagoon, Sunway Pyramid. Maybe next time!!

Aaaand lastly, our flight back to Manila was also delayed. jfc.

P.S: Already planning my trip next year!

xx,
Tin
